Skills Sets

ISR swim instruction is for children 6 months to 6+ years with all one-on-one instruction.  Lessons are conducted 5 days a week (Monday through Friday), at a maximum of 10 minutes a day, for approximately 6-8 weeks.

Rollback to Float

*6+ months (sitting up unassisted) to early walkers

For our youngest children the focus is on learning to independently roll onto their back upon entering the water. This allows the child to safely breathe, rest and float until they can be rescued. On average, this skill set is achieved within 6 weeks.

Swim-Float-Swim

18+ months (or once a child has a solid walk) to 6+ years old

When a child has mastered walking they are ready to learn the full swim-float-swim sequence. Children are taught how to swim with their head down and eyes open, roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe, and roll back over to resume swimming. They will repeat this sequence until they reach the pool steps, side of the pool, or the shoreline and are safe. On average, this skill set is achieved within 6-8 weeks.
